FORMER CAPITOL POLICE CHIEF SHARES ALL ABOUT JANUARY 6 RIOT
Steven Sund discusses his book, Courage Under Fire, in a new police podcast
McLEAN, VA (January 23, 2025) - Recently exonerated former U.S. Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund reveals shocking details about what happened on January 6th in "Heroes Behind the Badge," a groundbreaking video podcast series from Citizens Behind the Badge (CBB). The series begins today with an audio preview episode at bit.ly/4gZK2kX, followed by the three-part video interview premiering January 28th on YouTube.
In his first extensive interview since Congress cleared him of wrongdoing last month, Chief Sund discusses his book, “Courage Under Fire” and shares his definitive account from inside the Capitol on January 6th in remarkable detail. He talks about the intelligence failures leading up to January 6th; the impossible odds his officers faced during the riot; the political barriers that hampered their response; and the deaths, injuries and emotional scars that resulted.
"For nearly three years, politics overshadowed the heroic actions of law enforcement on January 6th," declared Craig W. Floyd, CBB President & CEO and co-host of the series, along with his colleagues Bill Erfurth and Dennis Collins. "Through Chief Sund’s riveting first-hand account of what happened on January 6, viewers will get a rare and emotion-packed glimpse into the true story behind that fateful day and the brave men and women who put their lives on the line to defend the Capitol. Chief Sund made clear going into the interview that nothing was off limits," Floyd added.
