Chris Collins
Commencing when he was 21, Chris was a law enforcement officer with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, where he served 32 years. In his capacity as a police officer with the LVMPD, he worked in patrol, SWAT, the detective bureau, and the Law Enforcement Officers’ Association. While in SWAT, Chris received several thousand hours in all aspects of tactical training and as a trainer for POST. His extensive SWAT training in the area of building security was paramount in the buildout and eventual operation of the grow facilities and dispensary. While serving with the Law Enforcement Officers’ Association, Chris was elected and served as the President of that organization.
In addition, Chris served as a member of the executive board of NAPO (the National Association of Police Organizations). Over the years, he held several elected positions, his last being as Vice President of NAPO which represents over 240,000 law enforcement professionals across the country.
In his later years of service with the LVMPD, Chris served as a member of Nevada’s Public Employee Retirement System’s Board which implemented the policies and oversaw the systems $35 billion in funds. He was also a dedicated lobbyist at both the state and national levels on behalf of public employees in general and law enforcement officers in particular and advocated regarding all issues affecting those groups.
